Victorian Day

Class: 2W Year: 2022 - 2023

To help the children to develop a better understanding of what life was like for Victorian children the students in Year 2 took part in an emersion day, coming to school in Victorian costumes and spending the day taking part in similar activities to those Victorian children might have done. Some of the activities included rote learning of times table facts, handwriting both on slates and then using pen and ink, PT (physical training), sketching (we looked at what the victorians thought an elephant looked like and found out that most Victorians would never have seen any animals from other parts of the world), making peg dolls and weaving.
