2W visit to the shops to buy fruit

Lesson: Maths

Class: 2W Year: 2023 - 2024

Before our visit we did a survey and completed a tally chart to find out which were the most popular fruits. We then made a shopping list, with the fruits in order from most to least popular.

We were lucky enough to have lovely weather for our walk to the shops. The children each brought in 50p which they had to carry with them. Once we reached the local greengrocers, we chose from a range of different fruits and the children had to group together to pay for the items they had chosen.

Back in school they then worked with adult supervision, to chop the fruit into small pieces to make a fruit salad. It was delicious and what was particularly lovely was how many of the children tried fruit they had never eaten before. I am very proud of them all.
