2W moving vehicles project

Class: 2W Year: 2022 - 2023

For our final design and technology project in year 2 the children were challenged to design and make a vehicle for a toy of their choice. They began by looking at other moving toys and thinking about who these might have been designed for, then they drew their own ideas and created a design on the computer. Once they hade thought about which toy they would carry in their vehicles they worked out which size of chassis they would need, measured and cut the axles and then constructed the sides, boot and bonnet. As usual the designs were very varied and wonderfully creative! finally the children added their wheels although a couple of them had to make additional parts for the chassis to support the axles of their 'monster' trucks.
