Science

Year 2 Science builds on learning from Year 1. We start by observing and learning about plants. We go on to learning about Animals and Living Things and their Habitats in Spring and Materials in Summer. Throughout each topic we have a focus on Scientific Enquiry Skills:

 asking simple questions and recognising that they can be answered in different ways

 observing closely, using simple equipment

 performing simple tests

 identifying and classifying

 using their observations and ideas to suggest answers to questions

 gathering and recording data to help in answering questions.
