Phonics
Children at Key Stage 1 have a daily phonics lesson. At the start of June all year 1 pupils are tested to check they have achieved the standard expected for phonics. If they do not achieve this they will be tested again in Year 2. The attcahed files provide a list of graphemes covered that your child is expected to know and use confidently. Please ask if you are unsure of any of the correct phonemes (sounds). The Phonics Play website is a fabulous resource for phonics games to support your child. BBC schools also provide a wealth of phonics games including some linked to the popular Alphablocks. Thank you for your support.
