Geography

We cover some super areas of learning in Year 3 within Geography, we start by revisiting the UK countries and their capitals, also looking at the surrounding seas and reminding ourselves about the continents of the world.

We then move to look at the regions of the UK and some of their physical and human features.

We link geography to our history topic and explore maps of Tatton Park and practically investigate the 8 points of the compass.

During the year we introduce the children to Europe and they will continue this learning in Year 4. Furthermore we have a series of lessons that explore and investigate our local area (in particular the local amenties)  and compare and contrast these with Blackpool (a coastal area).

We try to include lots of fieldwork opportunities so be prepared to answer some questionnaires during the year!
