3/4 Science
In Autumn, we consider "How do we hear?" We think about how sounds travel, parts of the ear, insulating sound, and how sounds travel over a distance. Additionally, we cover "States of Matter" where we learn about solids, liquids and gases and introduce the water cycle.
Our Spring topic "Who lives in a place like this?" is focused on living things and their habitats, food chains, microhabitats, biomes, human impact, and revisits vertebrates/invertebrates. We link to computing with branching databases.
"Animals including Humans" in Summer covers the digestive system and teeth and the diets of carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Later in the term, we see how electric appliances work in our "Electricity" unit which covers switvhes, conductors and insulators.
